Terms of Service

The terms and conditions for using Battle Archery services.

Last updated: November 2025

Introduction

Welcome to Battle Archery. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and booking services. By making a booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you don't agree with any part of these Terms, please don't use our services. We're based in New South Wales, Australia, and these Terms are governed by Australian law.

About Our Services

Battle Archery provides mobile archery tag-like events in the Greater Sydney region. We bring equipment, game marshals, and everything needed to your location for a fun, safe event.

  • We operate as a mobile service - we come to you
  • Events can be held indoors or outdoors (subject to space requirements)
  • We require roughly a basketball court-sized area (20×30 metres)
  • All equipment is provided and maintained by Battle Archery

Bookings and Payment

Making a Booking

To book an event, you can contact us via our website, phone, or email. We'll discuss your requirements and provide a quote based on:

  • Number of participants (minimums apply based on package)
  • Event duration
  • Location and travel distance
  • Date and time preferences

Pricing

All prices are listed per bow and include GST. Prices may vary based on:

  • Package selected (1 hour, 1.5 hours, or 2 hours)
  • Travel distance outside central Sydney (additional fees may apply)
  • Special requirements or custom arrangements

Final pricing will be confirmed when you book. We accept payment via bank transfer and credit card. All events are paid in full prior to the event.

Confirmation and Deposits

A booking is confirmed when we agree on date, time, location, and pricing. We may require a deposit to secure your booking, which will be clearly communicated. Deposits are typically refundable up to 7 days prior to the event. If we have booked a venue on your behalf that cannot be refunded, the cost will be taken from the deposit.

Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation by You

If you need to cancel or reschedule your event:

  • More than 7 days notice: We'll work with you to reschedule, or provide a refund (minus any non-refundable deposit)
  • Less than 7 days notice: Cancellation fees may apply, as we may have turned away other bookings
  • Same day cancellation: Full payment may be required unless due to extreme circumstances

Weather and Unforeseen Circumstances

We're happy to play in most weather conditions, but if bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances affect your event:

  • We can move the event indoors (if a suitable venue is available)
  • We can reschedule for another date
  • If neither option works, we'll provide a full refund (no deposit held)

Cancellation by Us

If we need to cancel your event (extremely rare, but possible due to equipment failure, staff illness, or safety concerns), we'll provide a full refund or work with you to reschedule at no extra cost.

Safety and Participant Requirements

Safety is our top priority. By participating in a Battle Archery event, participants agree to:

  • Follow all safety instructions provided by our game marshals
  • Wear provided eye protection at all times during gameplay
  • Behave responsibly and respect other participants
  • Inform us of any medical conditions or physical limitations that may affect participation

Age Requirements: Events are suitable for ages 9+ (general guideline). Participants must be able to safely handle the equipment.

Physical Requirements: Participants should be in reasonable physical condition and able to move around safely. If you have concerns about suitability, please discuss with us before booking.

Liability and Waivers

While Battle Archery is designed to be safe (we use foam-tipped arrows, low-poundage bows, and mandatory eye protection), all physical activities carry some inherent risk. By participating, you acknowledge that:

  • You participate at your own risk
  • You're responsible for your own safety and the safety of others in your group
  • Battle Archery and its staff are not liable for any injury or loss that occurs during an event (except where required by Australian Consumer Law)

We maintain public liability insurance, and participants may be required to sign a waiver form before participating. This is standard practice for recreational activities.

Equipment and Venue Requirements

Venue Requirements

  • Minimum space: Roughly a basketball court (20×30 metres)
  • Additional space around edges for arrows to fly safely
  • Surface should be relatively flat and safe
  • Access for our vehicle to load/unload equipment
  • Appropriate permissions if using public spaces or private property

Equipment

All equipment is provided by Battle Archery and must only be used under the supervision of our staff. Participants cannot bring their own bows or arrows for safety reasons - all equipment is custom-designed to work safely together.

If equipment is damaged due to misuse or negligence, the client may be liable for repair or replacement costs.

Conduct and Behaviour

We expect all participants to:

  • Behave respectfully towards other participants and our staff
  • Follow game rules and instructions from game marshals
  • Not engage in dangerous, aggressive, or illegal behaviour
  • Not be under the influence of drugs or excessive alcohol

We reserve the right to remove any participant who engages in unsafe or inappropriate behaviour without a refund. We also reserve the right to cancel an event if we believe safety cannot be maintained.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted means you accept the new Terms. If you don't agree with changes, please don't use our services.

If we can't resolve a dispute, you may contact the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) or relevant consumer protection agencies in NSW. These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
